X‑Guard’s mission is Securing Everybody Everywhere: whether you're on the move, at home, at work, or in a public space.
With the X‑Guard Alarm App, you can send an emergency alert with just one tap. This guide walks you through the installation, registration, and configuration of the app.

1. Installing the X‑Guard Alarm App

The app is available for both Android and iOS devices.

1.1 Android (Google Play Store)

  1. Open the Google Play Store on your smartphone

  2. Search for "X‑Guard" or "X‑Guard Alarm"

  3. Select the app and tap Install

  4. Once installed, tap Open

1.2 iOS (App Store)

  1. Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad

  2. Search for "X‑Guard" or "X‑Guard Alarm"

  3. Select the correct app and install it

  4. Once complete, tap Open

2. Registration: Private or Business Account

If your organization uses X‑Guard, you will typically register using a QR code provided by your administrator.

2.1 Steps for registration with a QR code

  1. Open the app and enter your name

  2. Scan the QR code you received from your organization or group

  3. Enter your email address and phone number

  4. You’ll receive a verification code by SMS: enter it

  5. Choose a username

  6. Optionally, add a profile photo and address

  7. Accept the terms and conditions

  8. Complete the registration and follow the in-app onboarding

Note: Always use the correct QR code to join the right group or network

2.2 Logging in without a QR code

If your organization has already created an account for you, there’s no need to scan a QR code
Simply log in using your username or email address

This also applies if you're using a new device:

  • Download and open the app

  • Enter your known login (usually your email)

  • You’ll automatically reconnect to your existing account and group

3. Configuration and Setup

3.1 Permissions

To function properly and securely, the app requires the following permissions:

  • Location (always allowed): Ensures your position is accurately shared, even in the background

  • Microphone: Enables hands-free communication with the emergency center during an alert

  • Motion and fitness: Supports energy-efficient location tracking using motion sensors

  • Notifications: Required to receive incoming alerts and important messages

  • Bluetooth: For pairing with a physical alarm button and indoor location support

  • Battery optimization exception: Prevents the app from being closed automatically in the background

  • Display over other apps: Allows the app to appear on top during an active alarm, even if your screen is locked

These permissions are essential for reliable and rapid emergency signaling and support

3.2 Pairing a Bluetooth Alarm Button (optional)

  1. Enable Bluetooth on your device

  2. Open the app and go to Settings > Bluetooth Alarm Buttons > Add Button

  3. Press and hold the button (for example: 10 seconds) to start pairing

  4. Give the button a name and save it

4. Testing and Verification

After setup, check that the app is functioning correctly:

  • Use the in-app test function to trigger a mock alarm

  • Verify that notifications are delivered

  • Test your Bluetooth button to ensure it sends an alert

  • Make sure your location is accurately shared

5. Complete Your Profile

To enable fast and efficient emergency response:

  • Add a profile photo in the app so responders can quickly recognize you

  • Enter your home address so emergency teams or the alarm center know where to find you, especially if you trigger the alarm from home

  • Save key phone numbers in your contacts and mark them as favorites: this ensures you receive emergency calls, even when your phone is in Do Not Disturb mode
