Automatic Switching in the X-Guard Alarm App

Safety without effort – fully automated

The Automatic Switching feature in the X-Guard Alarm App makes your security smarter and easier. The app can automatically set your Own Security status or the Receive Alarm Calls option to On, Off, or Risk based on the addresses you set or your phone’s charging status. This ensures you’re always protected, wherever you are – fully in line with our mission: Securing Everybody Anywhere.

Automatically setting Own Security
With X-Guard, you decide where and when protection is needed. Simply add addresses in the app and set per location whether your Own Security should be On, Off, or Risk. When you approach or leave a saved address, the app automatically switches to the correct mode.

The app can also switch automatically to your chosen settings when your phone is connected to or disconnected from the charger.

Automatic switching for alarm calls
Do you sometimes forget to manually turn on Receive Alarm Calls? With automatic switching, that’s no longer an issue. The app can enable or disable this function when you enter or leave a set address – ensuring you are always reachable for important alerts without having to think about it.

How to set up automatic switching:

  1. Open the app and go to Menu → Change settings.

  2. Select Automatic Switching.

  3. Enable the feature and add a new rule.

  4. Choose when the app should switch:

    • When the charging status changes (connected or disconnected)

    • When approaching or leaving an address

  5. Enter the desired addresses and settings.

You can add multiple addresses and rules, and adjust them anytime to your personal preferences.

Privacy & Data Protection (GDPR)
X-Guard only processes the data necessary to provide our services. When Own Security is On, your location is determined precisely. If it’s Off but Receive Alarm Calls is On, only an approximate location is used. Address data is stored locally on your phone and not unnecessarily shared.

Additional features
Do you want settings to be centrally managed per account, group, or person? This is possible through X-Guard (SLA agreements). Automatic switching can also work at room level using X-Guard Beacons.
