Testing the Bluetooth Alarm Button without triggering an alarm

Easily and safely check if your alarm button is working correctly

At X-Guard, we work every day towards our mission: Everyone, Everywhere, Secured. A properly functioning Bluetooth alarm button is essential. To ensure you can rely on it in an emergency, it’s important to test it regularly.

Fortunately, this can be done quickly and safely without triggering a real alarm.

Quick check: Is your alarm button connected?

How it works:

  • Open the X-Guard Alarm app
  • Press the Bluetooth alarm button once briefly

What happens?
If connected, the X-Guard logo briefly enlarges and moves.

Full test without triggering a real alarm

Step 1: Set a test alarm (green alarm)

  • Open the app
  • Go to menu → Settings
  • Select Bluetooth Alarm Buttons
  • Choose your button
  • Set to Green Alarm
  • Save

Step 2: Perform the test

  • Hold the button for 3 seconds

What happens?
You receive a test alert in your own app, just like a real one.

Tap “I will help”. You will now see your own alarm, including the address it was sent from. Depending on your organization’s setup, you will also see who is notified, such as nearby people, personal contacts, fixed contacts (for specific areas/buildings), or the regional police.

Closing the test alert

  • Tap “End alarm”
  • Select “Everyone is safe”
  • Tap “Yes, we are done”
  • Fill in the feedback field

Explain whether you are satisfied and why.

  • Tap “Continue to close”

Reset your alarm function

Set back to:

  • Orange Alarm – Assistance
  • Red Alarm – Panic

Always prepared

Regular testing ensures reliability when it matters most.
Together we achieve: Everyone, Everywhere, Secured.
