Installation Guide Bluetooth Alarm Button

Step-by-step instructions for pairing, setting up, maintaining, and disconnecting your Bluetooth alarm button

At X-Guard, we are committed to Securing Everybody Anywhere. With the Bluetooth alarm button, you can quickly and easily trigger an alarm in emergency situations. This guide walks you through the complete process of pairing, setting up, maintaining, and if needed disconnecting your Bluetooth alarm button via the X-Guard Alarm app. This ensures that your personal safety system remains reliable at all times.

Step 1: Pairing the Bluetooth Alarm Button

  1. Enable Bluetooth: Turn on Bluetooth on your smartphone.

  2. Open the X-Guard Alarm App: Launch the X-Guard Alarm app on your device.

  3. Open the Menu: Tap the menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top left corner.

  4. Change Settings: Select ‘Change settings’.

  5. Bluetooth Alarm Buttons: Navigate to ‘Bluetooth Alarm Buttons’ and tap ‘Add button’.

  6. Start Pairing: Press and hold the alarm button (with the X-Guard logo) for about 10 seconds until pairing is complete.

  7. Name the Button: Give the paired button a recognizable name.

  8. Assign Function: Under ‘Function of the button’, select the desired alarm type:

    • Green Alarm: Test alarm

    • Orange Alarm: Assistance alarm

    • Red Alarm: Panic alarm

  9. Save: Tap ‘Save’ at the bottom to confirm the settings.

Note: The alarm button contains a coin cell battery that lasts approximately two years. Regularly test the button and replace the battery on time to ensure functionality.

Step 2: Complete Your Profile and Save Important Numbers

  1. My Details: In the app, go to ‘My Details’.

  2. Add a Profile Picture: Tap the camera icon to upload a photo of yourself. This helps responders identify you more quickly during an alert.

  3. Important Phone Numbers: Go back to ‘Change settings’ and select ‘Important phone numbers’.

  4. Save Numbers: Follow the instructions to save the contact numbers for the X-Guard Alarm Center and Control Room into your phone contacts and mark them as favourites. This way, you won't miss any important calls even when your phone is on ‘Do Not Disturb’.

Step 3: Maintenance and Monitoring of the Paired Alarm Button

To ensure your alarm button remains reliable, the following maintenance procedures apply:

  • Monthly Check
If a Bluetooth alarm button is paired, X-Guard automatically checks its functionality once a month.

  • Email Request If in Doubt
If irregularities or connection issues are detected, X-Guard will send an email asking you to manually test the button.

  • Giving the Button to Someone Else? Always Disconnect It First
If you give the button to another person because you no longer need it, make sure to disconnect it from your account first. This prevents you from continuing to receive email notifications or test reminders.

Step 4: How to Disconnect the Alarm Button

Follow these steps to disconnect your Bluetooth alarm button in the app:

  1. Go to the menu or tap the blue icon at the top of the app.

  2. Select Bluetooth Alarm Buttons.

  3. Choose the button you wish to disconnect.

  4. Tap Disconnect.

After disconnecting, the button is no longer linked to your account, and you will no longer receive system messages about it.

Ready to Use!

Your Bluetooth alarm button is now successfully paired with the X-Guard Alarm app and ready for use.

Tip: Press the alarm button briefly to test the connection. If the X-Guard icon at the top left of the app moves slightly, the pairing was successful.

With this setup, you are assured of fast and effective alerting in emergency situations, fully in line with X-Guard’s mission: Securing Everybody Anywhere.
